Welcome to Red Kite VA
Oooh, isn’t this exciting! My very first blog post on my brand-new website. Over the coming weeks and months, I intend to post quite a few posts about the joys of Virtual Assistants… however, for today, we’ll talk about how I ended up working as a VA.
It was 5.30am on the 5th May 2018, I’d been woken up by an almost 1 year old. The two of us went downstairs together. While she played happily and the older four children slept on, I decided to write a post for my (at the time) rather successful blog, Beth in a Box.
Although, I was Mum to 5 lovely children, I still felt that something was missing and upon reading a post from a fellow blogger, I figured out what it was. Blogging was no longer using all the skills I had acquired over the years and wasn’t working the way I would have liked. But, this blogger was talking about Virtual Assistants.
Immediately, I fell down a rabbit hole and spent hours researching Virtual Assistants and what it was they did. It seemed like a good choice… I already had a website domain I wasn’t using, as well as the hosting that was required to set up a website. I suppose you could say a dream was born.
By the end of that day, I had managed to build myself a rudimentary website (using the skills I had acquired as a blogger) and decided on my service list. I was very pleased with myself to say the least.
It took a couple of months to really see the movement… but by December 2018, I was full to capacity.
So, I guess you could say, becoming a VA was an accident for me. But it certainly was a happy accident and I intend to continue for a long time yet.
